In my post on Michael Young's piece on the UN, there might have arisen a confusion due to unclear writing. It might have appeared to some as if I meant that Michael Young endorsed "putting Chalabi in charge" which he does not. That line was in reference to Juan Cole's postings and his relating of Richard Perle's testimony (as well as the Daniel Pipes piece I commented on earlier). Michael Young was only criticizing the turning of Chalabi into a scapegoat.

Speaking of which, see this piece by Juan Cole. It seems that the DoS might be effectively moving in to remove Chalabi (and thereby his "patrons") from the picture in Iraq. It just goes to show the deep ideological divide over Iraq. Frankly, the last thing I would want is to see the DoS and the CIA responsible for Iraq.
